What could possibly go wrong during the NFL draft? Nothing, if Pat McAfee is in charge of keeping up the mood.
Initially, it was doubtful if McAfee would do a life right from Green Bay or not. However, the former NFL punter eventually broadcast live and made sure he did it the right way.
A video recently went viral on social media that caught the football fans’ attention.
During the show, cameras caught McAfee appearing to smoke something and toss it into the crowd, leading to a variety of responses online.
Interestingly, he offered whatever he was smoking to Mike McCarthy, the former head coach of the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. But McCarthy immediately declined for his own good.

While Pat McAfee made the most out of his off-camera behaviour, he was initially not in for the show.
At first, McAfee was ready to skip the 2025 NFL Draft altogether. He was really frustrated with the way he felt the NFL treated him, especially after some awkward interactions with league personnel at the combine back in March.
McAfee called out what he saw as a power play by some folks in the league, saying they seemed to want to flex their authority over him. He didn’t want to jump through hoops or play games with people who didn’t respect him or his show.
“Someone at that middle level who has power wanted to flex the fact that they have power, I think. Created some problems, obviously. … Hoops were made for us to jump through for no reason because I think I’m younger than these people. So they think they can, you know,” McAfee said last month.
But after thinking it over, McAfee had a bit of a change of heart. He realized that the draft is such a huge event that it would be hard to miss out on it in person.
“The more and more I think about it, you know, maybe we do go shake [the NFL’s] hands. It’s going to be an electric factory over there. That place is amazing. I can’t wait to see. It’s awesome what the NFL has done with the draft. So maybe we, you know, go shake their hands and make it happen,” he added.
For fans wondering if they’d still get their dose of the Pat McAfee Show on draft day, ESPN has put those worries to rest. They announced that a special edition of the show will air live from Green Bay, starting at 8 PM ET.
