NFL star Patrick Mahomes may be part of the reason why Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift got together back in 2023, he has revealed.

Mahomes, 29, and Kelce, 35, are Kansas City Chiefs teammates, but the quarterback may be more than just a helping hand on the field.

Swift, 34, and partner Kelce are one of the most popular couples in the world right now, with fans and media keen to catch a glimpse of them at any given opportunity.

It is widely reported that the pair began their romance towards the end of 2023 but are seemingly now in a fully-fledged relationship.

Swift regularly attends Chiefs’ home matches and has been spotted alongside Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, who cheers her husband on from the stands of the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

When speaking on the “The Pat McAfee Show” in May 2024, Patrick revealed he was the reason why Kelce attended Swift’s ‘Eras tour’ back in July 2023.

“I like to take some of the credit,” Mahomes said.

“I was the one who invited Travis to the first Taylor concert when the friendship bracelet [plan was made].”

Of course, the plan mentioned was for Kelce to meet Swift at a concert and try to hand her a friendship bracelet with his phone number written on it.

“He was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker,” added Mahomes.

“I had some input in there as well. I was like, ‘Dude, you should just go for it. Just go for it!'”

Mahomes isn’t the only footballer to comment on Travis and Taylor’s romance.

During this campaign, the Chiefs have been involved in several close finishes.

This caused Travis’ brother Jason – a former footballer – to even jokingly suggest Swift may have had something to do with it.

“I kind of feel like you guys are the ‘Angels in the Outfield,’ there’s some unknown [conspiracy]…” said Jason.

“Here you go with this f**king Tayvoodoo s**t,” the NFL star joked on last Wednesday’s episode of ‘New Heights’ podcast.

“You can call it luck, you can call it fortune, guys just playing their ass off until the last second is off that clock, and we know a lot of weird s–t happens in this league,” replied Travis.

The Chiefs are in a fine run of form, having won 12 of their 13 AFC games this season, seven of which came at home, with Swift attending most matches.
