Alyssa Farah Griffin has an interesting take on Taylor Swift’s new “Lover,” Travis Kelce.
The ladies of “The View” discussed Kelce’s recent remarks to WSJ Magazine, in which the Kansas City Chiefs tight end claimed he does not want to speak too much about his mega-famous beau — out of fear of driving her away.
Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Joy Behar all took turns giving their conflicting opinions on whether Kelce has already said too much about the pair’s highly publicized romance, until Griffin applauded him for publicly pursuing her.
“I’m the same age as Taylor and close to Travis’ age,” the 33-year-old said. “He pursued her, and with millennials, a lot of men do not go for the women. It’s the casual dating. He wanted to meet her and went for her. I like that intentionality.”
Griffin continued, “For Taylor, I think it’s [Kelce] a different type. She always dates — if it’s even just a palate cleanser, an athlete would be…” Griffin tried to explain how Kelce isn’t Swift’s usual type, while her fellow co-hosts roasted her.
“This isn’t ginger with your sushi, Alyssa,” Haines cringed, putting her head in her hands.
“Who’s the palate cleanser?” Behar asked whether Griffin was referring to the Super Bowl champ or the Ticketmaster breaker.
“Even if Travis is just a palate cleanser my red flag is this…” Griffin attempted to explain herself once more before Behar quipped, “I’m more of an amuse-bouche,” likening herself to the bite-sized appetizer.
Finally, Griffin managed to finish her thought.
“My only concern is she got out of a seven-year relationship and really jumped into this. You tend to want to give time to get over the previous relationship.”
She continued, “I root for them and want to see her happy,” the former political strategist claimed. “I think she’s one of the most talented musicians by far, but it seems a little bit of a stretch.”
