Adidas has signed Micah Parsons (24), the Dallas Cowboys standout defensive player and the 2021 NFLDefensive Rookie of the Year. The two-time All-Pro will trade in the “check” for the three stripes and will wear adidas cleats for his fourth NFL season. He’ll also sport selected adidas apparel and specialty footwear on the field. Additionally, he will be involved in brand marketing campaigns.
Parsons’ signing with adidas comes as no surprise, as the brand has become one of the most prominent footwear brands in the NFL, boasting a roster of stars. Names like Patrick Mahomes, Trevor Lawrence, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Chris Jones, Garrett Wilson, David Njoku, Tua Tagovailoa, Brock Purdy, Aaron Jones and Jordan Addison are already part of the adidas family. The brand also recently announced a rookie class that includes Rome Odunze, Adonai Mitchell and Michael Penix Jr. Many names with NFL contracts over 100 million dollars in that list.
Chris McGuire, adidas Vice President of Sports Marketing, praised Parsons, stating, “Since his rookie year, Micah has distinguished himself as a transformational player in the league with his relentless drive, unique and engaging personality, and overall pursuit of greatness.”
Although the contract’s sum has not been disclosed, Parsons’ statistics speak for themselves, solidifying him as one of the best at his position since entering the NFL as the 12th pick for the Cowboys in 2021. Parsons has amassed 213 tackles, 40.5 sacks, 8 pass deflections, 7 forced fumbles, and 1 touchdown in the young career of the former Nittany Lion from Penn State.
